Facing the problems with Fiji government

Each country faces problems of sorts --- political, environmental, civil rights, etc., and these are usually critical situations that have been going on for quite some time already yet haven’t been resolved. There are cases that the government will have to weigh which problem to counter first and there are times when the government itself is the dilemma --- and this makes it more difficult to face.

The problems with Fiji government are somehow the same challenges that the rest of the world encounters. Fiji may be a new country and a growing nation on its own after its independence a couple of years ago, but it has always faced the problems of discrimination and social inequality, endangerment of its precious animals, and military injustices. The people’s problems with Fiji are more on the rights and preservation of life and being. For the past couple of decades, these have been gradually resolved by the Fijian themselves, but then another set of humanitarian conflicts arise, thus making it a rolling issue in the country.

In the past, when it was still part of the British colony, the major rivalry happens between the two major groups of settlers --- the Fijians and the Indians who were brought to Fiji to work on the large plantations. There was a clash between the two races, but somehow, peace slowly reined in and the cultural problems with Fiji folks and Indian workers have subsided. However, another clash came, but this time, it’s Fijians vs. Fijians (indigenous), which is even worse because they are of the same race, blood, and land. This has been causing much political unrest and problems with Fiji --- as a nation and as a people. It is sad that the indigenous Fijians are corrupted and deprived by their fellow Fijians --- lands and properties and self-worth have been taken away from them.

Another big problem with Fiji is the rapid decline of their animal species, as the years pass, more and more species have been included in their endangered list. This will surely be a big loss for them and their future generations because these endangered animal species will only be a memory and a picture for them.

Though it is a fact that a country will always have certain issues and concerns to tackle --- be it terrorism, unemployment, budget deficit, civil rights, etc., it is also important to note that these cares are not there to color the government, but rather to test how the government, the people, and the country can withstand these difficulties, unrest, and obstacles.
