On a whim one day, I thought I'd check to see if my lastname.com was available for purchase. It was so I snatched it up. Since then, I have been growing the site as I had the time, but now I've become more enthusiastic about it. http://www.fashbaugh.com has a unique purpose. People with the last name, Fashbaugh, have been dropping by the site and sharing their stories about their background. Collectively, we've been discovering bits and pieces about the ancestry of the Fashbaugh name. There's really no reason why anyone can't do the same thing to find out more about their last name. I suppose that people with more common last names would have some difficulty since the Internet would naturally be more saturated with content containing their name, but if you're actively building a website about your family and ancestry, you will attract people overtime. You can ask them for any information that would help you on your quest to build the ultimate "Fashbaugh" website. As your family grows, you can add pages for the different family members. For example, my new son's page is at http://www.fashbaugh.com/caleb.html. You might even consider adding a blog, such as my wife's page, http://www.fashbaugh.com/Amanda/index.html.
